The CEO of TAGES, Leyla Arsan, has presented the VERITAS Project at the TUBITAK Science, Technology and Innovation Projects Sharing Conference organized on 23 June 2006. The Conference is organized to share the results of projects funded by international support programs, and terminated in last 5 years.
The CEO of TAGES, Leyla Arsan, has presented the VERITAS Project at the TUBITAK Science, Technology and Innovation Projects Sharing Conference organized on 23 June 2006. The Conference is organized to share the results of projects funded by international support programs, and terminated in last 5 years.
Main objectives of the Conference were determined as generalizing the culture of science and technology to the public and encouraging the national studies on science, technology and innovation. 70 projects have been therefore presented at the Conference; 44 of these have been introduced both orally and poster exhibition, and 26 projects are exhibited by posters. The main sectors of the projects presented at the Conference can be described as; transport, agriculture and agricultural machines, health, management systems, industry of defense and construction.
Leyla Arsan presented VERITAS project by a presentation and project poster. VERITAS is an EU funded project under the 6th Framework Programme assembling 5 foreign institutions as partners and ‘The Association of Machine Manufacturers’ (MIB) from Turkey. The Project has started on the 1st July 2004 and completed on 31st January 2005. The main objectives of the project were designed as building an awareness on the concepts like ‘virtual enterprises’ (cooperative networks), and creating pilot cooperative networks in the sector of machine manufacture, in Turkish, Austrian and Belgium machine manufacture sectors . At the end of the project, two cooperative networks have been created in Turkey; the first, ‘CompressorNET’ which assembles 11 compressor manufacturers, and the second ‘Superstructurenetwork’ gathering two machine manufacturers. Additionally, one cooperative network inBelgium and one in Austria were established. Furthermore, an implementation guide is prepared in order to instruct the enterprises willing to create cooperative networks.

In her speech, Leyla Arsan emphasized the importance of creating sustainable cooperative networks for the SMEs and other institutions. Taking example the outputs of the VERITAS project, she has presented the contribution of such networks to the industry and science.
