TAGES, as being one of the Project partners of OPEN (Open Innovation for Adult Learning) Project, hosted the Project partners on May 16-18, 2013 in Istanbul.
OPEN Project which is an LLP (Life Long Learning Programme) Grundtvig Partnership Programme Project, and aims to develop a learning course in four thematic areas, developed its first module on 2.0 collaborative work and tools. The Project partners prepared the educational content and teaching methodology on Web 2.0 collaborative work and tools and also presented the best practice examples about successful use of these tools in their countries during the third Project meeting on May 16-18, 2013 in Istanbul.
Through the learning course, it is aimed to provide useful information and also give inspiration to the adults who are especially more than 40 years old and unemployment or working in SMEs and want to develop and improve a business idea using ICT and innovation. In this respect, the partners defined the objectives and the content of the theoretical programme of the module 1 and it will be updated until the end of the Project according to the cutting edge technologies/applications. The chosen best practices by the partners on this area are also really interesting. The success stories of a creative craft organization in Italy, a grocery market in Spain, an on-line organic children clothing shop in UK and a gelato shop in Turkey were presented by the Project partners. The common point of these examples is to show how the entrepreneurs use Web 2.0 collaborative tools in their business activities and become a successful entrepreneur in terms of use of these tools. According to these best practices, it shows that the entrepreneurs in the SMEs are mostly using the collaborative tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Youtube, and RSS.
At the end of the Project a learning guide and a best practices guide including for 4 modules will be ready for the benefits of the adults. The second module, Open innovation and knowledge transfer to adult learning, will be developed in the Fourth project meeting in Sicilia hosted by Italian partners in July 2013. The video records of the best practices will also be prepared during the entire project and will be shared with the project’s target group.
