If you are working in information and communication technologies or nanotechnologies, materials and new production technologies, and want to participate in European projects, Stuttgart workshop on 4-5th November 2008 will be an excellent opportunity for you. TUBITAK, Fraunhofer IAO, Stuttgart University and TuR&Bo are organizing a two-day-workshop in order to get the experts in the mentioned sector together and provide them a cooperation environment for developing new project ideas to be presented in the ICT and Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies (NMP) calls of the 7th Framework Programme.
European Union is expected to open projects calls on November to support ICT and NMP projects for 2009. In order to facilitate the participation of interested parties in the programme, and create a networking environment for participants to initiate collaborative projects, TUBITAK, Fraunhofer IAO, Stuttgart University and TuR&Bo will hold a workshop which is open to everybody working in ICT or/and NMP sectors. Moreover, TUBITAK will provide financial support in accommodation and transport for 10 Turkish participants who fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
- to have proposed an R&D project in ICT or NMP (being above the threshold will be a plus)
- to be involved in an EUREKA or COST project
- to carry out a national project in the mentioned areas

Project Submissions will start in November 2008
European Union will provide funding to projects on topics clearly specified by the European Commission. In the 4th call of ICT the project topics to be supported are:
• Personal Health Systems
• ICT for Safety and Energy Efficiency in Mobility
• ICT for Energy Efficiency
• ICT for Environmental Simulation & Monitoring
• ICT and Ageing
• Accessible and Assistive ICT
Moreover, the EU will open NMP project call (FP7-NMP-2009-SMALL-3) on adaptive control systems for responsive factories and another call (FP7-NMP-2009-SME-3) on holistic and integrated approach to high performance, reliable and adaptive machine tool design and production. In order to submit projects, you should follow the project calls and form your project consortium in one of the required topics.
