Project ideas submission is now open for the European ICT Conference on Research and Technology Development which will be organized on January 29th and 30th 2007 in Istanbul at Ceylan Intercontinental Hotel. The Conference is organised under the FP6 funded EASIER (www.eti-easier.org) and SEE Innovation Projects with the cooperation of TAGES, TUBİTAK, and TBV. SMEs and companies operating in the ICT sector can submit project ideas on the Conference’s web site www.ictconference-istanbul.org until December 1st, 2006. Selected project ideas will be presented at the networking sessions of the Conference on December 11th, 2006.

The Conference has a significant importance as it will be the first international activity in the ICT domain after the launching of the 7th Framework Programme. European Commission Directorate Generals’ representatives and technology platforms’ presidents will participate to the Conference as speakers and they will inform the participants on 7th FP.
As the Conference supports the participation of SMEs to the Framework Programme, representatives from the European Investment Bank will participate also. They will inform the audience on loan possibilities for the commercialisation of the R&D results. Participation of approximately 350 ICT SMEs from 20 European countries is envisaged.
9 Networking sessions will be organised during the Conference which will bring together SMEs with project ideas and other ICT companies in order to encourage them to cooperate for the first ICT calls of the FP7. Networking sessions will be an opportunity to present project ideas, find partners for the project ideas, and meet with other institutions searching for partners for their project ideas. The topics of the networking sessions will be determined according to the main topics of the first ICT calls of FP7.

Selected project ideas to be presented at the networking sessions will be announced on December 11th 2006 on the Conference’s web site.
