The first issue of the new monthly magazine on R&D and Innovation named ‘Bilgi Çağı’ and owned by Turkish Informatics Foundation (TBV) will be published and available on February, 2007. The magazine targets all the actors responsible for the R&D activities in Turkey; namely industrialists, SMEs, NGOs representing the industry, legislative authorities on industry and technology, consultants, universities and research institutions.
The magazine aims to watch and support the R&D activities in Turkey under the objective of being an information society and to encourage the participation of Turkish ICT institutions to European R&D projects, to orient them in the way from a project idea to a collaborative R&D project proposal document by its content, activities and projects.
TAGES provides content to the magazine and Leyla Arsan, TAGES CEO, is a member of editorial board. Other members of the editorial and advisory board are Faruk Eczacıbaşı, Edip Emil Öymen, Behçet Envarlı, Cemil Arıkan, Hüsamettin Kavi, Tuğrul Tekbulut and Kemal Cılız. License holder of the magazine is Faruk Eczacıbaşı, president of TBV and editor-in-chief is Cem Tecimen.
Bilgi Çağı magazine aims to discover the hidden potential of scientific research and technology development in Turkish SMEs, individuals, industrialists, universities, NGOs, and public bodies and to lead this potential to be used in a effectively.
By its content, projects and activities, the main concern of the magazine is defined as to watch innovation and R&D activities of the concerned and responsible organisations in Turkey, to help solving their problems by positive and constructive critiques, and to contribute to these processes to develop faster and properly.
The magazine will provide information on EU funding schemes and successful projects funded by EU funding programmes in order to make decision takers in the private sector, the public bodies and NGOs more conscious on innovation and collaborative working. New ideas will be thus firstly transformed to R&D projects and then to new businesses.
The magazine will lead on the innovative way of thinking for its readers by introducing the benefits and efficiency increase to be gained from R&D. The magazine will also emphasize on the importance of ICT for the development and use of all other technologies, as well as it will serve as a consultant on ICT and development for its target reader groups.
