The GLASS project partners gathered at the Edinburgh Napier University Merchiston Campus on March 30-31, 2023 for the project consortium meeting, hosted by Edinburgh Napier University (ENU). As an innovation partner of the project, TAGES representatives Leyla Arsan, Erdem Gülgener, and Aslıhan Kağnıcı attended the meeting.
The project partners evaluated the GLASS system, which will be completed at the end of 2023, from a technical and user perspective and discussed how citizens and other stakeholders will benefit from this system.
Funded by the European Union (EU) Horizon 2020, GLASS is an ongoing research and innovation action that brings citizens, businesses and European governments closer together. The aim is to make public administrations and public institutions open, efficient and inclusive, and to deliver secure, interoperable, borderless, digital, personalised and citizen-centred public services to the EU population.
Using a ‘single sign-on wallet as a service’ GLASS regulates access to information across Europe and allows citizens to carry their digital wallet wherever they go.
With GLASS;
- Citizens can control their own history and data.
- The bureaucratic process of moving abroad, for example, is simplified and secured.
Not only citizens but also businesses and governments will benefit from the project’s time-saving, data capture, sharing and documentation features.
GLASS considers two sets of use cases:
- Business: Designed for the description of real cases and demonstrator flows.
- System: Designed to link user needs and system requirements. The detailed use case description also documents the GLASS specifications and matches them with technical use cases

In the coming days, as part of the project’s pilot studies, stakeholder workshops and online training sessions on the GLASS system and its benefit will be organised. Stay tuned. Feel free to contact us for any questions or further information.
