PRO-FACTORY, the cluster of Eureka funding programme presents funding opportunities for the manufacturing companies. Manufacturing companies met in the EUREKA conference organized by TÜBİTAK and Istanbul Chamber of Industry in Istanbul on 25th March, 2008 in order to learn these opportunities from TÜBİTAK and PRO-FACTORY representatives and to discuss their project ideas and share their project experiences.
As Christian Wögerer, Chairman of EUREKA Profactory, stated there is a strong competition from the countries such as China and the USA for the European manufacturing business. PRO-FACTORY aims to develop European projects in a quick and efficient way and to make the manufacturers develop R&D and to share expertise and knowledge in a cooperative way. The programme supports advanced manufacturing technology projects and in the coming period of 4 years it aims to bring forward at least 50 new EUREKA and related international projects for creating advanced technology and innovative products and processes in the European manufacturing sector.
PRO-FACTORY is an application-oriented, bottom-up and collaborative R&D support mechanism and it focuses on the ‘innovative production’ and ‘new added value products and related services’. Therefore, if you have an innovative idea which can be applicable in the market in a short or medium term you can find your partner from a European country and develop your project idea. The topics that you can develop projects are:
- New production technologies
- Flexible production systems
- Environmentally friendly products and production processes
- Integrated services for products and production processes
- Application of IT in production processes
- Development of new production and business processes
