“Istanbul Blockchain Women Platform have been initiated in 2018 in order to involve actively more women and girls in the blockchain world and create awareness. Day by day, our blockchain women family and projects grew and its supporters increased. From now on, the community will continue to struggle for gender equality in Turkey and worldwide as “Istanbul Blockchain Women Association (IstBCW)”.
Pandemic couldn’t stop the blockchain women and as soon as the legal offices open up for the procedures, founders have met and signed for the new establishment. The IstBCW became officially an association on 27 July 2020 with the signatures of its founders. IstBCW will carry out its activities especially on blockchain, coding and science workshops to improve the ecosystem while contributing in sustainable development and the gender equality. You can learn more about the activities of IstBCW here (in Turkish).
Leyla Arsan, CEO of TAGES, as one of the founding members of IstBCW will contribute on the activities especially on innovation and sustainable development. You can read Arsan’s interview here about Plastictwist, an EU funded Project which aims to create a new plastic economy, using blockchain technology as a first interview of IstBCW’s interview series. Besides trainings and workshops, IstBCW also organizes ‘meetup’s and ‘use-case series’ with the experts in the blockchain ecosystem.
