The GLASS Consortium came together on 14-15 June 2022 in Lisbon, Portugal for the 5th Plenary Meeting of the Project which was hosted by the Portugal Ministry of Justice. TAGES representatives, Erdem Gülgener, Vice-chairman of the board, and Aslihan Kagnici, Projects Consultant attended the meeting and organized the workshop to discuss how to exploit the GLASS results.
While completing half of the GLASS Project activities, the project partners from 8 different countries successfully developed the first version of the GLASS solution which uses blockchain technology to deliver a distributed framework for sharing common services of public administration across the EU, for the benefit of citizens, businesses and governments and now piloting activities of the project starts based on the use-cases of the Project which are designed to understand the stakeholders’ needs better and extract system requirements. GLASS considers two sets of use cases:
- Business: Designed for the description of real cases and demonstrator flows.
- System: Designed for linking user needs and system requirements. The detailed use cases description also documents the GLASS specifications and matches them with technical use cases
The concepts introduced in the GLASS value chain can be extended to the main benefactor’s (citizen) angle and focus directly on the eWallet. with GLASS, citizens get to control their own stories and data. Their bureaucratic process of moving abroad- for instance- is simplified and secured. Not only citizens but businesses and governments benefit from the project by its time-saving, data recording, sharing, and documentation features. Besides, GLASS ensures data confidentiality, and the integrity of interactions with a cost-effective, innovative e-governance platform. Three demonstrators of the Project considered are:
- Alice goes to Portugal
- Konstantinos visiting Istanbul for six months
- Helin is hired as a Java developer
