The Digital Agenda Going Local for Turkey Project lead by Digital Turkey Platform was completed successfully by Turkey’s best experts in ICT and the final report was released.
As a candidate country in the European Union, Turkey needs to localize its Digital Agenda. For this purpose, Turkey’s best experts on ICT formed a group under the Digital Agenda Going Local for Turkey Project, which is led by the Digital Turkey Platform. Digital Turkey Platform has been formed by the leading five non-governmental organization of the Turkish ICT world, namely TBV (TIF), TUBISAD, TBD, ECID and TESID, with a representative base of more than 95 % of the Turkish ICT economy.
The project was subcontracted to TAGES, where 7 experts formed a project team who are also very active in European Research activities, and kicked-off on July 2013 and ended on August 2014 with a published final experts’ report on August 29, 2014. This report is shared with Turkey’s ICT Community and the Public Organizations responsible of ICT and Digital Agenda. The project team targeted to benefit and leverage the ICT ecosystem of Turkey by establishing the alignment with EU through analysing and evaluating the Digital Agenda Europe (DAE) activities for Turkey and provide feedback to DAE with Turkey’s local requirements and Turkey’s scoreboard indicators.
The experts analysed Turkey’s status on DAE action plans in each pillar. The detailed mapping of the DAE actions and the current status of Turkey was one of the main discussion points of the team studies. Why a Digital Agenda action is important for Turkey and what has been done in Turkey so far for the relevant action were the main questions that were answered. Therefore, the report included the experts’ views on 7 pillars and their actions.
Pillar 1- Digital Single Market
Pillar 2- Interoperability & Standards
Pillar 3- Trust & Security
Pillar 4- Fast & ultrafast Internet Access
Pillar 5- Research & innovation
Pillar 6- Enhancing Digital Literacy, Skills and Inclusion
Pillar 7- ICT-Enabled Benefits for EU Society
