Siemens IT Solutions has organized a workshop for developing innovative thinking to produce new project ideas on the 30th of July 2009 in Sapanca Richmond Hotel. TAGES CEO, Leyla Arsan, gave a presentation on ‘Being Innovative, Cooperation and Open Innovation’.
‘Are You Ready for the Innovation Journey with SIS?’ workshop hosted Siemens IT Solutions and Services employees. On her presentation with the topic of ‘Being innovative, cooperation and open innovation’ Arsan explained what we should combine and what we should access to create innovation with conspicuous examples. She has stated that it is possible to provide innovative thinking by combining both common featured ideas and certainly different ideas. She has classified service innovation which comes into prominence and develops more than other innovation types. At this point Arsan wanted participants to think about affects of applying creative thinking which is due to combine different ideas.
Arsan defined being innovative as a combination of creative thinking, strategical thinking and transformer thinking. At the workshop some people has creative mind, some of them has strategical mind and some of them has transformer mind. She has stated that it is possible to be innovative by equally having all of these thinking types together. And for her ‘innovative people means innovative society’.
Arsan compared the past R&D mind and today’s R&D mind. As a result, in the past close innovation existed because of intracorporate R&D. It means that innovation includes only a corporation and a discipline. She remarked that today R&D is interdisciplinary and intercorporate, so that it is possible to open to new markets instead of current markets.
At the last part of Arsan’s presentation she has pointed out the main sources of open innovation. She has talked about 10 big ideas which have been decided in IBM Innovation Jam and to which over than 150.000 participants from 104 countries have attended, 46.000 ideas have been posted in two 72-hour sessions and more than 4,6 million page views of Jam materials and discussions. In this sense she stated that there will be living labs in the future. It means that a consistently and orderly academic area, open university for all, users are always inside, user necessities are foreground, the public, organizations, academies and users are together and technology providers, developers, researchers and clients are together too.
The workshop raised the awareness and the knowledge of the participants on innovative ways. So presentation has succeeded to make participants realise their thinking type and how they could use their innovative mind for their organization.
