The partners of the FIRE -Facilitating Innovation in Renewable Energy- Project met in Budapest on June 7th-8th, 2007 in order to discuss the progress of the project and the details of the project activities. The meeting was organized to increase cooperation among the project partners for the better performance of the project. FIRE project is funded by the EC under the 6th Framework Programme and coordinated by EurExcel, European Association on Innovating SMEs from the UK. TAGES is one of the project partners.
Leyla Arsan, TAGES CEO, participated to the FIRE progress meeting as one of the partners of the project. Project partners discussed the details of the project work packages in the meeting and made an assessment of the works performed. The meeting focused on the content of the SME questionnaire that will be prepared to screen the suitable SMEs to make them participate in the project and on the associated methodology for execution of the marketing campaign for the distribution of the questionnaire.
FIRE project aims to support SMEs who have an R&D potential in renewable energy sector to participate in the EU 7th Framework Programme. Under the project, SMEs within the energy sector will be identified and they will be selected after the implementation of Innovation Audits. The selected SMEs will be supported to participate in existing and future RTD projects and in building European networks.
The next progress meeting that will be held in October 2007 will focus on the content of the 10 European sectorial workshops that will be organized for the continuous development of FIRE’s SMEs through international networks.
Within the project activities, TAGES, as one of the partners of the project, will target 150 SMEs in Turkey by September 2007. After the pre-screening process, TAGES will select 20 SMEs with an innovation potential to participate in the FIRE project and it will also host a European workshop in Turkey with participation of 20 SMEs and mobilize research centers, NGOs and public organizations to take part in the European Renewable Energy Technology Platform to be established in the project. TAGES aims to make 10 Turkish SMEs working on Renewable Energy Sector participate in the FP7 projects.
