“Success relies on Cooperation” says TAGES CEO Leyla Arsan her Speeches in ICT SUMMIT’05 (Bilişim Zirvesi’05) Istanbul, on September 7-8, 2005 organized by INTERPRO. Arsan made her first speech about “Cooperative Networks for Enterprises”. The second speech, “No Chance for Enterprises who can not adapt to EU” was hold on with the participations of Cengiz Aktar, EU Center Director of Bahçeşehir University, Can Baydarol, EU Foundation Board Member and Esat Köseoğlu, IRC Ege EU Programs Executive.
The first speech was hold on 7 September, at the second day of the ICT SUMMIT’05, Arsan made her speech about “Cooperative Networks for Enterprises”.
In her first speech, Arsan explained the concept of “Cooperative Networks” to the audience. She presented best practices of Cooperative Networks and success stories in different industries in the world. She mainly tried to show up the advantages and opportunities of cooperative networks for enterprises. Arsan also described briefly the roles and responsibilities of the partner companies in the network. Arsan also talked about Turkish cooperative networks start-ups and finally explained their efforts to build up a cooperative network for The Turkish Machine Tool Manufacturers as a result of VERITAS Project activities funded by EU 6th FP.
At the third day of ICT SUMMIT’05, Arsan as the moderator of a session named “How to prepare to the regulations and criteria of EC during the EC adaptation period”, presented the participants who were specialists on EU issues, Cengiz Aktar, Can Baydarol and Esat Köseoğlu. First speaker Baydarol gave the political background of EU-Turkey relations and expressed his opinions on the role of enterprises in Turkey’s integration process to EU. Second speaker Aktar presented to the audience the current image of Turkish enterprises with comparative figures between Turkey and Ireland, and tried to explain how Turkish ICT SMEs would improve their current situation in order to reach European standards. Third speaker Arsan’s topic was on the way to European Integration where European funding mechanisms and projects would be the critical processes in EU Integration. Then she emphasized that increasing Science and Technology activities within the framework programs would help ICT SMEs to develop and be more innovative and integrated to EU also by means of Lisbon Strategy. Last speaker Köseoğlu informed the audience about the IRC activities on how they support ICT SMEs and ongoing EU projects .
